I've been thinking a lot about how I should train for my first half marathon in April. I had pretty much decided on using a Smart Coach program from runnersworld.com, but on the recommendation of a colleague, I looked into a half program by Matt Fitzgerald and bought it through TrainingPeaks.
So far the program looks really good. It's based on time instead of mileage, just like the C25K that I completed last year and which got me into running in the first place. As an extra bonus, there is a Garmin TCX file included, so I can load the plan into my Garmin FR405.
I'm starting in week 2 of the program and will thus be following it for 15 weeks until 26th of April where I'll be running the B.T halvmarathon.
Yesterday was an easy 40 minutes including warm up and cool down and today I had my first experience with strides.
