Apparently a week of being sick with a cold is not such a bad thing. I had hoped to run just below 25:00 in the 5K today, but as I noted in my last post, I was not so sure I could do it.
I set my Garmin Virtual Partner to run 4:59 min/km, but got caught up in the excitement when the gun went off and ran the first kilometer in 4:30. It did not really feel so bad, so I just slowed a little bit and pressed on.
I ended up with a new PR of 23:33 (garmin time). Official times should be available sometime during the next week.
My previous record was 26:01 (29:35 for my first 5K), so it's quite an improvement.
It's an excellent feeling being able to set new personal records everytime I run, I realise it won't always be that way, but I'm surely enjoying it for now :)
