I wish I had as much fun in the snow as my nephew above, but in reality training wise, it's been a rather hard week because of the weather.
My region started getting some serious snow and winds Wednesday, but I managed to get up at 3am and get a run in before it really started. Temperature was -4c, cold but ok as long as the wind isn't too strong.
Saturday and Sunday was a whole different story. My 8 km recovery run on Saturday was done on a 1.5 km stretch of clear sidewalk and my 26 km Sunday medium long run, first on snow covered sidewalks, roads and track and after 19 km a short stretch of resonable snow free pavement that I ran again and again.
Very difficult and exhausting conditions. I considered aborting my 26 km run several times but managed to complete it after much effort. If this weather continues, I'm considering purchasing a subscription to the local gym and use their treadmills, however boring they are.
Tue: 13 km w/10x100m strides
Wed: 19 km medium long run
Thu: 8 km recovery
Fri: 14 km general aerobic
Sat: 8 km recovery
Sun: 26 km medium long run
Total for the week: 88 km
